| Company Introduction | Bodegas Valdemar is a family-owned winery with over 135 years of history in the D.O.Ca. Rioja region. Founded in 1889 in Oyón, five generations of the Valdemar family have maintained a steadfast commitment to quality, innovation, and respect for winemaking tradition. Since its inception, Valdemar has been a pioneer in the production of Rioja wines, with milestones such as the introduction of the first barrel-fermented white wine in 1989, the revival of native grape varieties like Maturana and Graciano, and, more recently, the production of the first single-vineyard sparkling wine from Rioja. In 2019, Valdemar Estates opened its doors in Walla Walla (Washington), becoming the first non-American winery in that state. This milestone marked a new phase in the family’s international expansion, which now combines its century-old experience in Rioja with the innovation and dynamism of the U.S. market. |
