| Company Introduction | iñedos y Bodegas de la Marquesa – VALSERRANO is a historic, family-owned winery founded in 1880, located in Villabuena de Álava, in the Rioja Alavesa region. For more than 140 years, it has been producing wines that reflect tradition, a dedication to craftsmanship, and respect for the land and its fruits. The history of our winery begins in the second half of the 19th century, when the Marquis of La Solana joined a movement of winemakers seeking to modernize the style and production of Rioja wines. His daughter, María Teresa Solana, “La Marquesa,” inherited the winery and vineyards together with her sister María, and she gave our winery its name. Today, with the fourth and fifth generations of the family, we continue to uphold the pure concept of estate wines. We produce limited quantities from 65 hectares owned by the family and around 10 additional hectares from long-standing suppliers, all located in or around Villabuena de Álava, with an average vineyard age of over 40 years. More than 140 years of winemaking are devoted to expressing the character and qualities of our land, our climate, and our classic grape varieties. |
